Alarm Permit
Alarm permits are required for all alarm systems within the City of Arcata, except those affixed to vehicles.

Alcohol Permit
A separate permit is required if alcohol is to be served at a dance or event open to the public. The actual permit is issued by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in Eureka.

Building permits for interior remodeling, additions and new construction.

Dance Permit
To avoid last minute problems, we ask event organizers give a minimum of 2 weeks advance notice before submitting a dance permit request.

Encroachment Permit
Before digging in, building on or maintaining any structure that encroaches in or over any City property, tidelands, street or easement, get an encroachment permit from the Building and Engineering Department.

Film Permit
A Photography/Motion Picture Permit is required for use of City parks, buildings or grounds for the staging or shooting of commercial motion or television pictures or photography.

Parking Permit
There are 3 preferential zones within the City of Arcata (Zone A, Zone B, Zone C). Preferential Parking Permits are renewable online.
