Community members who require temporary water usage from a hydrant in the City of Arcata's treated water service area may request this service. Some examples of when residents or businesses request a temporary hydrant meter include work on construction projects, activities related to tree farms, temporary business operations, filling tanker trucks and for street sweeping purposes.
A minimum of one week's advance notice is required, and installation of the hydrant meter will be scheduled as workload allows. A deposit and service fee payments are required before meter is installed. Once installed, daily fees will apply for the duration of use.
