Jr. Explorers Science Camp- Marsh

Introduce your Young Explorer to the natural world through experiments, individual projects and engaging, age-appropriate science learning at Arcata's unique Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. Send your camper with healthy snacks, water and sunscreen everyday.

Ages: 4-6 years
Days/Times: Monday - Friday, 9 p.m. - 1 p.m. Extended care from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Weekly Fees: $125 / $138.50 non-resident
Location: Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center, 569 South G Street

Jr. Explorers Science Camp Marsh Dates and Themes for 2025

Week 1  June 16-20: Mustelidae-A-Day
Spend the week weaseling around learning about different mustelid family members from 
martens and badgers to OTTERS we'll have fun with these furry animals

Week 3  June 30-July 3: Birds of a Feather Travel Together
Campers soar into the world of birds that make seasonal and permanent homes at the Arcata Marsh. Learn about shorebirds, birds of prey and many other species.

Week 5  July 14-28: Water Works
Explore the power of water through experiments on filtration, erosion, and the role of wetlands in keeping our environment clean.

Camp Combo

Combine Jr. Explorers Science Camp with  
Young Creators Art Camp for a full day of fun! 
Transportation is not provided to or from the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center.

  • Weekly Fees: $175 residents / $202 non-residents
  • Weeks 1 & 3 Weekly Fees: $140 residents / $167 non-residents
