Arcata General Plan Environmental Impact Report

The City of Arcata is completing a comprehensive update to the General Plan. The General Plan is the policy foundation for decisions about everything from public infrastructure to the look and feel of private development. The General Plan sets a 20-year vision for the City of Arcata. Learn more on our General Plan page.

The Council is the decision maker that adopts the General Plan update, as well as the Gateway Code, which implements the Gateway Area Plan Element of the General Plan. The Council will be considering adoption in the spring of 2024. This action is subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This webpage contains information on the environmental review process, including all notices and reports, as well as the Environmental Impact Report, associated with the General Plan update.

You can receive notification of hearings and other engagements about this process by signing up for the CEQA or the Long-Range Planning eNotify lists here.
