Business of the Year Award

Annually, the Community Development Department awards the Business of the Year Award to recognize local businesses and nonprofits that exemplify the core values of innovation, resilience, collaboration, resourcefulness, diversity, equity, inclusion, environmental sustainability or community support.

The City recognizes the indispensable contributions of local business on our community, encourages economic growth and facilitates local business support.

Congratulations to the 2025 Business of the Year winner: Harvest Hub

This year’s business serves as a central support system for family farmers and food producers in the North Coast region. By connecting key players in the regional food system—producers, distributors, food access agencies, buyers, and support services—they streamline food ordering, storage, and distribution. It also helps farmers and ranchers with production planning, season extension, and wholesale market access, ensuring they can scale up to meet growing demand. They are transforming the local food scene in Humboldt County and ensuring local resilience on the North Coast. You can find Harvest Hub at https://harvesthub.localfoodmarketplace.com/.
