[ARCHIVED] Free Arcata Ridge Trail Maps Available for Mobile Devices

Want to explore Arcata’s Community forest 20+ miles of trails? View the newly updated Arcata Ridge Trail Map which includes the Arcata Community Forest and Sunny Brae Forest Unit trails. Download the City of Arcata’s GIS map of the trail free of charge through Avenza® System’s PDF Maps mobile phone application available on Apple and Android devices. Navigate with only GPS (cellular data can be disabled), record your tracks, add placemarks and photos to share with others.

Avenza® System’s PDF Map app can be downloaded through Google Play or the iTunes App Store. Search for “Avenza PDF Maps.” Once installed, your location along the trail will be represented by a moving, blue dot. Out of cell phone range? Used up your monthly data plan? No problem. The downloaded maps can be used offline.

The mobile phone application has handy features that allow you to zoom in for easy map reading, see your GPS position and a compass for navigation, measure distances and areas and more.

Free PDF maps of the Arcata Community Forest's over 20 miles of trails, the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary, and city streets and parking zones are also available through Avenza's map app.
