The City of Arcata is currently accepting 2022 Business of the Year Award nominations.
The City established the annual Business of the Year Award program to recognize local businesses and nonprofits that exemplify the core values of innovation, collaboration, resilience, resourcefulness, diversity, racial equity and inclusion, and practices that protect the environment and support the community.
Arcata businesses, nonprofits and residents are invited to submit nominations for the 2022 Business of the Year Award. Nominations must be received by 5 PM on Tuesday, February 1.

Nominations will also be accepted by email at jdart@cityofarcata.org. They can also be dropped off in-person or mailed to the Community Development Department office at Arcata City Hall, 736 F Street, Arcata CA, 95521. City Hall is open from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, and face coverings are required for all individuals when entering City Hall regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. Nominations can also dropped off in a sealed envelope labeled “Community Development Department,” at the City Hall water bill drop boxes, located in the City Hall parking lot off of 7th Street and in front of the USPS mailbox outside of City Hall. The Economic Development Committee and members of City Council will review all 2022 Business of the Year Award nominations, and the winner will be presented at the Arcata Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 Annual Business Leadership Awards on Saturday, February 19. The celebration will be held in person with COVID-19 safety protocols in place and streamed live on Facebook.
