The City is of Arcata is seeking community members to apply for one open volunteer position on the Planning Commission.
Arcata’s Planning Commissioners play a key role in shaping Arcata’s future with the Commission having final authority for most planning and physical development within Arcata’s planning area.
Important projects the Commission will have the opportunity to work on include topics such as sea level rise and its effects upon our community, general climate change policies, future housing and in-fill development in Arcata, the construction of the new Open Door Community Health Center and the Arcata Gateway corridor project.
Those who apply should have interest in learning all areas of City planning, development and historic preservation. If applicants have a background in Natural Resources or Environmental Compliance, it is a definite plus.
