[ARCHIVED] Sidewalk & Valley West Improvements Project is Underway!

Our Sidewalk and Valley West Park Improvements Project kicked off on Thursday, June 6. These projects will make key infrastructure improvements including the installation of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, asphalt paving repair, bus shelter installation, crosswalk enhancement and striping in the Valley West Neighborhood and (but not limited to) 11th Street, 12th Street, E Street, K Street, H Street and South G Street.

Work for these projects has begun near the Library Circle at Humboldt State University, at 5th and E Streets and at K Street between 8th and 9th Streets. Project construction will take place Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and on some days the contractor will extend work hours from 7 AM to 6 PM. Project work is expected to be completed in late August or early September.

On days of scheduled work, community members are asked to follow all directions and traffic control devices within the project area.

Due to the work required for these projects, neighborhood residents and community members may experience some on-street parking restrictions. Our Building & Engineering Department will notify affected residents in advance if their neighborhood may experience these parking interruptions.

If challenges arrive with this project, please contact F. Loduca Co. at 209-649-7068 or the City of Arcata at 707-825-2175. Thank you for your patience with us as we work to make these improvements!
