[ARCHIVED] Boat Launch Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The City of Arcata would like to invite residents to celebrate the installation of the new non-motorized boat launch facility at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 12 p.m.

The non-motorized boat launch has been completed and improvements include the installation of a new non-motorized boat launch facility and parking lot improvements that include asphalt, striping, drainage and new accessible parking stalls with accessible sidewalk access to the launch facility.

The Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary offers a diversity of recreational opportunities for people of all ages and interests. It now offers an accessible way for people to launch their non-motorized boats and enjoy the Bay!

The City extends its thanks to contractor Mercer-Fraser and the City staff who actively worked to make this vision a reality. Funding from the State of California’s Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways, as well as the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) enabled the City to carry out this project.
