The City of Arcata Environmental Services Department & Friends of the Arcata Marsh are seeking volunteers to assist with maintaining the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, February 1 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Work will include removing invasive plant species and cleaning up trails in honor of World Wetlands Day on Sunday, February 2. All ages are welcome, and work will take place rain or shine. There will be a variety of tasks to be completed, so volunteers will be able to select the work that best fits their comfort level. Participants are asked to meet at 9 AM at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center parking lot, located at 569 South G Street. From there, volunteers will walk to the work site. Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, gloves and to wear protective footwear and clothing.
