We're seeking volunteers to assist with maintaining the Community Forest on Saturday, September 28 in honor of National Public Lands Day. Volunteers will help clean up trails near the City’s recent timber harvest and prepare several trails for the upcoming winter months. Our Director of Environmental Services, Mark André, will greet volunteers at 9 AM for a quick discussion on the City’s community forest updates, including the annual timber harvest and what steps need to be taken now that it has been completed. Work will take place from 9 AM to 1 PM rain or shine, and volunteers of all ages are welcome. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, gloves and to wear protective footwear and clothing. Extra gloves and tools will be provided, and a complimentary lunch will be served at the end of the work day.
