August 24, 2019, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Arcata Plaza
A wide array of local, farm fresh foods are available at the year-round Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market! Visit the market each week to enjoy the freshest fruits and vegetables, humanely raised meats and eggs, honey, jams, flowers and plant starts. Depending on the time of year, local goat cheese and fresh caught fish can also be found. This market also features the very best bands of Humboldt County, with performances each week from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The Arcata Plaza Farmers' Market is open every Saturday rain or shine! Please leave your 4-legged friends at home because multiple State, County and Municipal regulations prohibit pets at Certified Farmers' Markets and food facilities. Please also note that smoking of any kind or unauthorized vending is not permitted.

August 24, 2019, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Redwood Park
The Environmental Services Department and the Humboldt Trails Council Volunteer Trail Stewards are seeking volunteers to assist with maintaining trails at Redwood Park and the lower trails in the Arcata Community Forest on Saturday, August 24 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Work will include removing invasive English ivy on trails between Redwood Park and 14th Street and basic trail maintenance. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and work will take place rain or shine. Participants are asked to meet at 9 AM at the parking lot located at the east end of 14th Street. This parking lot fills up quickly, so volunteers are encouraged to park in Redwood Park’s main parking lot and walk to the lot on 14th Street to convene with the group. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, gloves and to wear protective footwear and clothing. Extra gloves, tools and lunch will be provided.
