Founded by metal sculptor Hobart Brown in 1969, the Kinetic Grand Championship began as two-block race down Main Street in Ferndale, CA. Over the years, the race has become a 3-day marathon spanning 50 miles of Humboldt County’s towns, beaches, trails and rivers happening each year on Memorial Day Weekend. This unique North Coast tradition is a fun, exciting and free event for the whole family to enjoy. The 2019 Kinetic Grand Championship kicks off on the Arcata Plaza at 12 PM on Saturday, May 25, and there are many opportunities for spectators to watch kinetic teams race for the glory!
