  2. Equity Arcata Home Away From Home Potluck

    February 10, 2019, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ D Street Neighborhood Center

Equity Arcata's Home Away From Home Potluck is a community-building event created to act as a bridge between students, local businesses and community members. College students are invited to enjoy a free meal and help themselves to donated items from the “Free Stuff Table." Community members who wish to attend the potluck are asked to bring a home-cooked "soul food" dish in honor of Black History Month that is large enough to serve 10 people. College students are asked to only bring their appetites. Equity Arcata is currently seeking community donations of new or gently-used household items for the "Free Stuff Table" such as toothpaste, laundry detergent, shampoo, blankets and toilet paper. A community donation drop-off station will be set up at City Hall on Monday, February 4 through Friday, February 8 at 5 PM. Donations of unwashed blankets or clothing, partially-used personal hygiene items or opened food items cannot be accepted. For more information, visit
