A wide array of local, farm fresh foods are available at the year-round Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market! Visit the market each week to enjoy the freshest fruits and vegetables, humanely raised meats and eggs, honey, jams, flowers and plant starts. Depending on the time of year, local goat cheese and fresh caught fish can also be found. This market also features the very best bands of Humboldt County, with performances each week from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The Arcata Plaza Farmers' Market is open every Saturday rain or shine! Please leave your 4-legged friends at home because multiple State, County and Municipal regulations prohibit pets at Certified Farmers' Markets and food facilities. Please also note that smoking of any kind or unauthorized vending is not permitted.

Join Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) volunteers for a tour of the wildlife sanctuary. This free tour takes place rain or shine! No reservations are necessary. Participants are instructed to meet at the Interpretive Center at 2 PM.

Our Environmental Services Department, the Humboldt Fish Action Council and the U.S Department of Fish and Wildlife are seeking volunteers to assist with restoring Fickle Hill Creek on Saturday, November 9 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Participants will have the unique opportunity to learn more about local ecology, meet local agency partners and take an active role in the City’s ongoing efforts to improve and restore local creeks, ecosystems and watersheds. Work will include habitat enhancement at Fickle Hill Creek. This work day will take place rain or shine, and all ages are welcome to attend. Those who wish to volunteer are asked to meet at 9 AM at 255 Samoa Boulevard. Participants are encouraged to bring water, gloves and to wear protective footwear and clothing. Extra gloves and tools will be provided, and lunch will be served to at the end of the work day.
