    Visit the Arcata Plaza Farmers' Market to purchase the freshest Humboldt-County-grown and GMO-free produce along with plants, meats and other wonderful locally-grown or made products. This market also features the very best bands of Humboldt County! Market attendees will enjoy live music every week from 10:30 am-1:30 pm from April to Thanksgiving. Plus, visit the North Coast Growers' Association information booth for educational materials, recipes and garden growing guides. Please leave your 4-legged friends at home because multiple State, County and Municipal regulations prohibit pets at Certified Farmers' Markets and food facilities. Please also note that smoking of any kind or unauthorized vending is not permitted.

  1. Humboldt County ADU Fair

    September 21, 2018, 5:00 PM - September 22, 2018, 5:00 PM @ Redwood Acres

    The City of Arcata is pleased to be participating in Humboldt County’s first Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Fair in partnership with the City of Eureka, Humboldt County, the Redwood Economic Development Commission and Planwest Partners. An ADU is a small house or housing unit that is secondary or “accessory” to a primary unit such as backyard cottages, basement apartments, carriage houses, attached in-law suites, garden suites, granny cottages, mother-in-law flats, garage apartments and tiny houses that include a foundation. ADU Fair attendees will have the opportunity to learn everything about financing, permitting, constructing and managing an ADU. Plus, City and County representatives will be on hand to discuss building opportunities and constraints with property owners pertaining to their specific properties. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy food, libations and fun activities for kids including a bounce house. For more information, visit

Volunteer Work Days

  1. Community Volunteer Workday - Trail Project with the Volunteer Trail Stewards

    September 22, 2018, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Arcata Community Forest

    The City of Arcata’s Environmental Services Department and the Humboldt Trails Council’s Volunteer Trail Stewards are seeking volunteers to help assist in maintaining trails in the Arcata Community Forest on Saturday, September 22 from 9 am to 1 pm. Volunteers of all ages are asked to meet at 9 am at the Community Forest parking lot on Fickle Hill Road, located near the entrance of Community Forest Trail Number 9. From there, volunteers will walk or carpool to the south end of Trail Number 4. Work will include watering ferns, cleaning trail bridges and stairs and armoring (rocking) trails. Volunteers are encouraged to wear a long-sleeved shirt, work pants and boots and to bring water. Gloves, tools, lunch and beverages will be provided. For more information, please call 707-822-8184.
