Arcata Fire Protection District - Community Risk Assessment / Standards of Cover Study

The City of Arcata is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to provide a comprehensive Community Risk Assessment and Standards of Cover (SOC) Analysis that is compliant with the industry best practices for the Arcata Fire Protection. District (AFPD).  

The study shall evaluate the overall capacity of the AFPD to provide all-hazard incident mitigation. The study will include analyses of community fire protection risks, projected growth and land use alternatives within the community, and an interpretation of the impact of community growth and development trends on fire protection risks and emergency service planning and delivery. The study shall also include a projection of costs of fire protection services delivery, and an analysis of potential funding sources, and shall include a range of alternatives for funding at various levels of delivery. 

Proposals will be received at the City Manager's Office, 736 F Street, Arcata, California until 4:00 PM on Friday, October 13, 2023. Proposals will be evaluated by a selection committee, which will review and rank the proposals.  The award for this contract is anticipated to be made by the Arcata City Council on or after their meeting on November 1, 2023.   The Request for Proposals Package for this work can be obtained on the City’s website, www.cityofarcata.org under “Bid.”
