Energy Upgrade Financing

Energy efficiency upgrades can be expensive. Thankfully there are a number of programs offering rebates, financing for home or business improvements and even free energy upgrades for income-qualified families.

Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE)

One of the most significant barriers to costly energy efficiency retrofits is paying the up-front costs. The PACE program authorizes local governments to provide up-front funding to eligible property owners for energy efficiency upgrades, water conservation improvements and renewable energy systems. PACE can pay for new heating and cooling systems, lighting improvements, solar panels, water pumps, insulation, and more for almost any residential, commercial, industrial, nonprofit and agricultural property. The programs are 100% voluntary. Property owners repay the local government’s funding by agreeing to an assessment levied against their property, which is payable on their property tax bill.
