Marsh Explorers Science Camp is a half-day camp. Campers may choose to attend the morning session or the afternoon session, but not both within the same week.

Week 1: June 14 - 18Circle of Life Investigate connections between plants, animals and insects of the Arcata Marsh system. Explore how humans interact and impact our environment.
Week 2: June 21 - 25Wetland Wonders Dig into wetlands and discover what makes Arcata's coastal marsh special. Spend the week getting to know the aquatic and terrestrial inhabitants of the area.
Week 3: June 28 - July 2Adaptations The marsh is home to many masters of survival, such as shore birds and specialized plants. Learn how living in a coastal marsh is possible.
Week 4: July 5 - 9Birds of a Feather Soar into the world of birds that make seasonal and permanent homes at the Arcata Marsh. Learn about shorebirds, birds of prey and many other species.
Week 5: July 12 - 17Wetland Mammals From otters to raccoons, to rats and mice, spend the week scurrying around the marsh and learning about these interesting creatures.
Week 6: July 19 - 23Wonderful Water Water plays an important role in our daily lives. Discover the value that water has in balancing the bountiful ecosystem and the benefits provided to the natural world.
Week 7: July 26 - 30Invertebrates Get out your magnifying glasses & take a closer look. From micro to macro invertebrates, like insects and crustaceans, explore these local marsh marvels.
Week 8: August 2 - 6Water World Witness the scientific phenomena present in the Arcata Marsh waters. From the ponds to the bay, there's plenty to explore.
Week 9: August 9 - 13Herpetologist If reptiles and amphibians are your thing, then this is the camp for you! Learn about frogs, salamanders, turtles, snakes and many more slimy and scaly creatures.
Week 10: August 16 - 20Leave No Trace We need nature. Nature needs us. Learn the seven principles of LNT and discover practical ways to protect our natural lands.
