Register your 4- to 14-year-old in up to 10 weeks of summer fun. Choose between 11 different summer camps, or combine half-day camps tailored to fuel your child's particular passions. This year's camp line up includes Dance Camp, Marsh Explorers Science Camp, Skate Camp, Art Camp, Redwood Theater Camp, Adventure Camp and more. Sign up early as popular camps fill quickly. 2014 ARCATA RECREATION SUMMER CAMPS REGISTER ONLINE STARTING APRIL 14 AT www.CityofArcata.org/Rec

Parents, this year you can enroll your children into ten weeks of summer fun! The City of Arcata Recreation Division offers Summer Recreation Camps for youth between 4 to 14 years of age.

Redwood Day Camp (ages 5 to 12) Campers participate in a wide variety of games, art, cooking, fieldtrips, swimming and much more. Redwood Day Camp teaches real life skills in socialization, leadership and teamwork while exploring the world of nature, art and cooperative learning in the beautiful setting of Redwood Park. Redwood Day Camp runs daily: June 16 through August 22 (no camp on Friday, July 4). Full-Day Weekly Fee (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.): $130 or Half-Day Weekly Fee (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.): $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Extended Care hours are offered with drop-off as early as 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up at 5:30 p.m. for no additional charge. Redwood Day Camp is held at the Redwood Lodge in Redwood Park.

Dance Camp (ages 4 to 9) Dancers learn the latest moves and experiment with dance styles while working on core competencies. Open to dancers of all levels who have a love of dance and a willingness to learn and have fun. Each week culminates with a Friday All-Camp Performance. Dance Camp runs: June 16 to 20, June 23 to 27, June 30 to July 3 (no camp on Friday, July 4), July 7 to 11, August 4 to 8 and August 11 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Weekly Fee: $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Extended Care hours are offered with drop off as early as 8 a.m. for no additional charge. Art Camp (ages 7 to 14) Artists explore the visual arts while discovering their own style. Art Camp runs: June 16 to 20, June 23 to 27, July 7 to 11, July 21 to 25, July 28 to August 1 and August 4 to 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. daily. Weekly Fee: $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Art Camp is held in the Arcata Community Center’s Teen Room, 321 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway.

Young Creators Art Camp (ages 4 to 6) Young aspiring artists play games and activities with a focus on art projects. Young Creators Art Camp runs: June 30 to July 3 (no camp on Friday, July 4), July 14 to 18 and August 11 to 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. daily. Weekly Fee: $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Young Creators Art Camp is held in the Arcata Community Center’s Teen Room, 321 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway.

Pee Wee Sports Camp (ages 4 to 6) Young athletes learn basic hand-eye coordination and skills for a myriad of sports. Pee Wee Sports Camp runs: June 16 to 20, July 7 to 11, July 21 to 25 and August 18 to 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. daily. Weekly Fee: $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Pee Wee Sports Camp is held at the Arcata Community Center, 321 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway.

Explore, discover and enjoy the “WOW” of science in your own backyard. Young Explorers Science Camp runs: June 23 to 27, July 28 to August 1 and August 4 to 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. daily. Weekly Fee: $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Young Explorers Science Camp is held at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center, 569 South G Street.

Adventure Camp (ages 10 to 14) Adventure seekers gain lifelong skills while challenging their individual limits in tracking, navigation and orienteering, wilderness survival, fire safety and cooking and adventure prep. Each week offers new activities and adventures. Adventure Camp runs: June 16 to 20, June 30 to July 3 (no camp on Friday, July 4), July 14 to 18, August 11 to 15 and August 18 to 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. daily. Weekly Fee: $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Adventure Camp is held in Redwood Park at the 14th Street entrance.

Skate Camp (ages 6 to 14) Youth of all skill levels learn how to be safe and have fun at our local skate park. Instructed by skilled, local skateboarders, this program focuses on park safety, park etiquette, street and vert riding and, of course, style. Skate Camp runs daily: June 16 to 20 for 6- to 14-year-olds from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 23 to 27 for 6- to 9-year-olds from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 7 to 11 for 6- to 14-year-olds from 1 to 5 p.m., July 14 to 18 for 6- to 9-year-olds from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and August 4 to 8 for 6- to 14-year-olds from 1 to 5 p.m. Weekly Fee: $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Extended Care hours are offered with drop off as early as 8 a.m. for no additional charge. Skate Camp is held at the Arcata Skate Park on Sunset Avenue.

Camp Combo Enroll your camper for all day fun with a morning camp (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) then choose a specialty camp for the remainder of the day (1 to 5 p.m.). Weekly Combo Fee: $130/$150 for non-Arcata residents. Some Camp Combos require parents to transport your camper to the next camp.

Natural Resources Science Camp (ages 9 to 12) This camp features five jam-packed weeks of science experiments, exploration, projects, team building activities, games, field trips, unique access to HSU faculty and labs and so much more. Natural Resources Science Camp runs June 23 to 27, July 7 to 11, July 14 to 18, July 28 to August 1 and August 11 to 15 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Weekly Fee: $130 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Natural Resources Science Camp is held in the Natural Resources Building at Humboldt State University, Arcata.

Redwood Theater Camp (ages 9 to 14) Theater campers train their voices and bodies for performance, experiment with improv and learn the basics of set building, costuming, stage makeup and more in the fresh air under the redwoods. Redwood Theater Camp runs July 7 to 11, July 14 to 18, July 21 to 25 and July 28 to August 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Weekly Fee: $95 (add $10/week for non-Arcata residents). Extended Care hours are offered with drop off as early as 8 a.m. for no additional charge. Redwood Theater Camp is held at the Redwood Lounge in Redwood Park.
