Thank you to Saturday's Janes Creek volunteers!
Nineteen amazing volunteers from AmeriCorps, the Humboldt Fish Action Council, HSU's Natural Resources Club, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and community members rolled out, trenched and staked 250 feet of geotextile fabric on a berm separating Janes Creek from the Galachi field near West End Road on Saturday. Roughly 250 willow sprigs were planted to improve the streamside ecosystem and prevent the return of invasive reed canary grass. Thank you for your hard work! Help finish the project next Saturday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call (707) 825-2163 for more information.
