Thank you to the 38 Arcata Community Forest trail building volunteers!
Thirty eight volunteers from the Volunteer Trail Stewards, the Humboldt State University Natural Resources Club and the HSU Volunteer Opportunities Program helped to reconstruct portions of Trail 5 and 10 in the Arcata Community Forest on Saturday, October 19. The volunteers moved 20 cubic yards of crushed rock in wheel barrows to construct 2 trail turnpikes and rehabbed ¾ miles of trail and road edges in a monumental effort. Thank you! The next volunteer workday will be on Saturday, October 26 along Janes Creek to remove invasive plants and replant native species. The meeting location will be at the corner of Hilfiker Drive and Cropley way at 9 a.m.
