Thank you to the 61 Day of Caring/Coastal Cleanup Day volunteers!

Sixty-one intrepid volunteers cleaned up the Arcata Marsh on September 21, 2013.

Sixty-one volunteers from Humboldt State University, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Friends of the Dunes, People for Pickleweed, Humboldt Fish Action Council, the Northcoast Environmental Center and the Friends of Arcata Marsh came out to the United Way Day of Caring/Coastal Cleanup Day at the Arcata Marsh. Volunteers dug out spartina, fennel, vinca and other invasive plant species and picked up trash. Thank you, everyone!

The next city volunteer workday will be Saturday, September 28, 2013 removing ivy along Janes Creek in the Westwood neighborhood. The workday will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the meeting location will be at the corner of Hilfiker Drive and Cropley Avenue.
