Thank you to Saturday's 33 McDaniel Slough volunteers!
On Saturday, September 14, 33 work day volunteers, mostly from the Humboldt State University Natural Resources Club plus other hearty souls from the community, planted over 5,000 salt grass starts in one of the brackish areas of the Mcdaniel Slough Restoration Project. The CCC’s will continue the planting until all 11,000 salt grass starts are in the ground.
The next volunteer workday will be Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary removing spartina and other non-native invasive species in celebration of Coastal Cleanup Day and the United Way’s Day of Caring. The meeting location will be the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center parking lot on South G Street.
