Thank you to Saturday's Fickle Hill Creek and Gannon Slough volunteers!
The City of Arcata sends out a big thank you to the 38 volunteers at Saturday's work day who planted 300 alder, sitka spruce and red twig dogwood seedlings and 200 willow sprigs at the Fickle Hill Creek and Gannon Slough restoration sites. Volunteers came out from the Humboldt Fish Action Council, Arcata High School, Humboldt State University's Natural Resources Club, Americorps and general public.
The next volunteer workday will be Saturday, May 12 at Shay Park to do litter and graffiti cleanup and non-native plant removal. The City and Cindy Condit’s Arcata High School biology class will host the event. For more information, call (707) 825-2163 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
