Committee Vacancies & Applications

Interested community members are invited to apply for committee vacancies which occur as committee members resign or fulfill their terms. Committee members whose terms are due to expire are contacted regarding interest in reappointment. Term expirations are specified in Arcata Municipal Code Title II, Chapter 3 (AMC II-3).

Parks & Recreation Committee
- Two vacancies. Recruitment for these vacancies will continue until the positions are filled.

If you would like to apply to serve on a committee that does not currently have vacancies, please fill out this application form and mail or deliver it to the Arcata City Manager's Office, 736 F Street, Arcata, CA 95521, ATTN: Commissions and Committees. You will be notified when a vacancy arises. Thank you for your interest in serving your community!

 

 

Appointments  
The City Council interviews all qualified applicants. A majority vote of the Council is needed for appointment.

Qualifications
Unless otherwise expressly provided under specified sections for each commission and committee in Arcata Municipal Code II-3, all boards, commissions and committees shall be comprised of seven members. No less than five members shall be residents of the City of Arcata and the remaining two must live or work in the Arcata Planning Area.
