The Arcata Community Center is a spacious facility that offers the community a central location to hold large or small events. The 8,800 sq. ft. Multi Purpose room is perfect for any event, from large concerts to small private wedding receptions. The facility offers a number of rooms available for use with many options to choose from. Easily located off Hwy 101, it makes driving to any event simple. The Community Center is located at 321 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, adjacent to the Sports Complex and HealthSPORT.

Multi Purpose Room/Gymnasium
This 8,800 square foot facility is perfect for your special event. The room is equipped with state-of-the-art multi-media equipment and a stage is available for your favorite band or performers. There is plenty of parking and access to full kitchen facilities.
Senior Dining Room
The Senior Dining Room is available for more intimate gatherings. Direct access to the kitchen allows for easy service and the large screen television, projection screen and microphones are available for entertaining and presentations.
Arts and Crafts Room
High arching ceilings and an abundance of work space make this room ideal for your creative endeavors, meeting, or small gathering.
There is ample space to create your favorite feast. The kitchen is outfitted with a 8 x 10 walk in refrigerator, large griddles and stove tops, and separate clean up and food preparation areas.
The gymnasium features a full high school regulation basketball court or the option of running two side basketball courts. Other optional layouts include two volleyball courts or three badminton courts. Bleachers and scoreboards are available.
Reservation inquiries may be made by calling the Arcata Recreation Division office at 822-7091. Users must submit a completed Arcata Community Center Use Permit a minimum of 4 weeks prior to proposed use. To secure your reservation, you must pay the facility use deposit. Insurance is required for all building rentals.

Deposits and Rental Fees
A $500 deposit is required for building rentals. A $1000 deposit is required for concert rentals. Deposits are refundable provided there are not damages to the facility and the facility is clean. Deposits will not be refunded if the reservation is cancelled less than 3 months prior to event. Half of deposit will be returned if City is able to rebook facility. Rental fees are due 30 days prior to event. All Day Rate applies to hours between 8am and 1am, including clean-up. Requests for extended hours are subject to City approval and additional costs. Changes made to Facility Use Permit less than 30 days prior to event are subject to City approval and may require additional charge. Any changes must be made in writing.
Non-profit agencies receive a 30% discount. Non-Profit agencies must supply their federal tax-exempt identification number. 100% of proceeds from event must be used to benefit the non-profit agency renting the facility. School districts within Arcata must have joint use agreements on file with the City in order to receive any rate discount. Discounts do not apply to the Contert Rate or actual labor costs for event preparation.
Commercial or Non-Commercial?
Commercial events are businesses actively conducting their business within the public facility. Examples: Sales meetings, business training. Those events must be charged a non-subsidized commercial rate.
The Recreation Division will provide top notch staff for the entire event to assist you with set-up/take down of City owned equipment. Example: tables, chairs, stage, audio/visual equipment.
