Current Planning projects are discretionary permit applications that require review and approval by the Arcata City Council or the Arcata Planning Commission. Types of discretionary permits may include: Use Permits, Coastal Development Permits, Planned Development Permits, Subdivisions, or Code and Map Amendments.
CommunityLife Wellness Campus (Mad River Hospital)
LACO Associates has submitted pre-application materials for a Major Subdivision, Planned Development Permit and Lot Line Adjustment on the Mad River Hospital property located at 3800 Janes Road in Arcata. A public presentation and scoping meeting will take place on June 27th between 6:00 - 8:00 pm and the City Hall Council Chambers, 736 F Street. All are invited to attend to learn more about this project. The presentation will be made by LACO Associates with an opportunity for Q&A at the end.

Boyd Road and Shirley Boulevard Annexation Projects
The City Council approved the Shirley Boulevard annexation and forwaded a request to the Humboldt County Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCo) that it consider final approval of the annexation project. The LAFCo hearing is scheduled for July 17th at the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 825 5th Street in Eureka. The LAFCo hearing begins at 9:00 am. The Staff recommendation to the LAFCo Board is for approval of the Shirley Boulevard annexation.
