The City of Arcata housing rehabilitation program offers loans up to $50,000 per home with 1.5% simple interest and deferred payments for 15 years. The loans can be used to repair health and safety concerns, weatherize the home, perform energy efficiency upgrades, and install energy generation equipment. The City provides each participant with a home energy efficiency analysis. The report will include the annual energy savings a participant may receive if they make the recommended improvements.
To qualify for the program the applicant must 1) own a home within Arcata City Limits and 2) meet the income criteria for low- or very low- income. Below is a list of the current income limits for Humboldt County as published by the Department of Housing and Community Development:
