In honor of the high school students and adults on their way to Humboldt State University who lost their lives in the tragic bus crash on Interstate 5 near Orland on April 10, 2014, the Mayor has ordered all flags on City property be lowered to half-staff through Wednesday, April 16, 2014.Why is the flag at half-staff?

The City of Arcata Community Development Department invites developers to submit proposals for the purchase and development of property located at Sunset Avenue and Alliance Road, commonly known as the “Twin Parks” properties (APNs 505-151-026, 505-131-014, and 505-131-016). Nineteen amazing volunteers from AmeriCorps, the Humboldt Fish Action Council, HSU's Natural Resources Club, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and community members rolled out, trenched and staked 250 feet of geotextile fabric on a berm separating Janes Creek from the Galachi field near West End Road on Saturday. Roughly 250 willow sprigs were planted to improve the streamside ecosystem and prevent the return of invasive reed canary grass. Thank you for your hard work!
